Electrolysis of dilute sulfuric acid
What is Electrolysis of dilute sulfuric acid?
The decomposition of dilute sulfuric acid by an electric current using inert electrodes, in which hydrogen is released at the cathode and oxygen at the anode. The oxygen comes from the water in the solution rather than from the sulfate ion, which takes no part, and both products are seen only as streams of colourless bubbles.
