This Privacy Policy explains how Academiq (“Academiq”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website at academiq-edu.com and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information from Google.When you sign in using “Sign in with Google”, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Profile and learning data. Your selected curriculum and subjects, chapters viewed, practice questions attempted, results, study streaks, and AI Tutor (Miqo) questions and responses.
- Payment information. When you upgrade to a paid plan, our payment processors (see Section 4) collect and process your payment details. We receive a transaction status and reference, not your full card or mobile-wallet credentials.
- Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically to keep the Service secure and reliable.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you via Google.
- To provide, personalise, and improve revision notes, practice, and the AI Tutor.
- To process subscriptions, referrals, and Pro-plan benefits.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms.
- To communicate essential service notices and respond to your requests.
3. Google user data — Limited Use
Academiq’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of the Service (signing you in and identifying your account). We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, or as part of a merger with appropriate protections.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- AI providers (Google Gemini and DeepSeek) — to process AI Tutor questions and generate answers. Question text and images you submit to the AI Tutor are sent to these providers to produce a response.
- Payment processors (Paddle and bKash) — to process payments for paid plans.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
5. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, tax, or security obligations.
6. Your rights and account deletion
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at TODO_ANY time. To delete your account and associated data, email us at support@academiq-edu.com from your registered address, and we will process your request. You can also revoke Academiq’s access to your Google account at TODO_ANY time via your Google Account permissions page.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.
8. Children and students
Academiq is an educational service intended for exam students. Some users may be under the age of 18. Where a user is a minor under the laws of their country, they should use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by notice within the Service.
