This Privacy Policy explains how Academiq Edu (“Academiq Edu”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website at academiq-edu.com and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information from Google. When you sign in using “Sign in with Google”, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Profile and learning data. Your selected curriculum and subjects, chapters viewed, practice questions attempted, results, study streaks, and AI Tutor (Miqo) questions and responses.
• Payment information. When you upgrade to a paid plan, our payment processors collect and process your payment details. We receive a transaction status and reference, not your full card or mobile-wallet credentials.
• Usage and device data. Anonymised performance log data and privacy-masked analytics collected strictly in accordance with your explicit consent preferences.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you via Google.
• To provide, personalise, and improve revision notes, practice, and the AI Tutor.
• To process subscriptions, referrals, and Pro-plan benefits.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms.
• To communicate essential service notices and respond to your requests.

3. Google user data — Limited Use

Academiq Edu’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of the Service. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not transfer it to third parties except as necessary to deliver the Service or comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with approved infrastructure service providers:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
• AI providers (Google Gemini & DeepSeek) — to process AI Tutor questions and generate answers. Raw student identity details are scrubbed before prompt submission.
• Payment processors (Paddle & bKash) — to process subscriptions securely.
• PostHog EU & Sentry — for privacy-safe event analytics and error monitoring (Session replays disabled, headers and PII scrubbed).
• Meta — optional advertising measurement, only when you allow marketing tracking in this browser.

5. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, tax, or security obligations.

6. Your rights and account deletion

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can request a complete JSON export of your account data via /api/account/export or request permanent account deletion via /api/account/delete. You can also email us at support@academiq-edu.com from your registered address. You can revoke Google account permissions at any time via your Google Account permissions page.

7. Cookies & Consent

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure your session. Optional analytics and performance trackers run strictly after explicit consent is granted. You can update or withdraw your consent preferences at any time.

8. Children and students

Academiq Edu is an educational service intended for exam students. Where a user is a minor under the laws of their country, they should use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, RLS database boundaries, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers — to protect your data.
