Simple molecular structure
What is Simple molecular structure?
A structure made of small, separate molecules, in which the atoms inside each molecule are joined by strong covalent bonds. Simple molecular substances have low melting points and low boiling points, so many of them are liquids or gases at room temperature, and they conduct electricity poorly. Describing the structure and those two properties is Core 2.5.3; explaining them, through the weak forces between molecules and the absence of mobile charged particles, is Supplement 2.5.5.
