Statistical Charts and Diagrams
What is Statistical Charts and Diagrams?
The family of diagrams named in Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 rows C9.4 and E9.4, which are identical: bar charts with separated bars of equal width and a labelled frequency scale, composite (stacked) and dual (side-by-side) bar charts with a legend and a shared baseline, pie charts whose sector angle is the frequency divided by the total frequency multiplied by 360 degrees and whose angles must sum to 360 degrees, pictograms whose key applies to partial symbols as strictly as to whole ones, stem-and-leaf diagrams whose leaves must be ordered and which must carry a key, and simple frequency distributions. Every one of them is a scale drawing of a frequency table or an exact record of the data, so every height, angle, symbol count and leaf is computed or copied from the data rather than judged by eye.
