What is Degree-Radian Conversion?

The process of re-expressing an angle in the other of the two angle systems, anchored on the single identity that 180 degrees and pi radians are the same angle. Multiplying a degree value by pi over 180 gives radians; multiplying a radian value by 180 over pi gives degrees. Because the two multipliers are reciprocals, choosing the wrong one produces an answer that is out by a factor of about 3283, which is why the direction is checked against a known landmark such as a right angle rather than recalled.
