Direct Transmission

What is Direct Transmission?

Transmission in which a pathogen passes straight from an infected host to a new host with nothing in between, for example by physical contact, sexual contact, infected blood, other infected body fluids, or from a mother to her child during pregnancy, birth or breast-feeding.
